Maze of the Week #35 - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Maze

Maze of the week #35 rocks. I am happy to present a maze of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. If you are a fan of music, and who isn’t ?, then you would love to visit the rock hall. I have had the pleasure of visiting multiple times. It is featured on the site this week because it was dedicated on September 1, 1995. The beautiful building was designed by architect I.M Pei. It reminds me of The Louvre which I also recently mazed. As someone who has lived in downtown Cleveland, I should mention that there are speakers around the downtown that play music from the RRHOF in the Summer. One of the speaker stacks is in this maze, and sits just outside the museum.

Learn more about the Rock Hall, and maybe even plan a visit.

Here is a photo of the museum on the shores of Lake Erie:

The mazes: I made this 4 times, each with different colorations. The face of the building changes colors based on the light and weather. The first version is where I landed, but I have included my second favorite also below. Note that the maze is poster sized and formatted to 24 x 42. It looks best printed on a large piece of paper.

And I assure you, this blue variation is also how the museum looks at times !

A maze of an important point ????

Maze of the Week #32 - The Louvre Maze

I am excited to present my maze of the week #32, The Louvre, the most visited museum in the world in Paris, France. I was fortunate enough to visit it for many hours one day and it is huge and completely worth your time. It is home to the Mona Lisa (smaller than you think) and the Venus de Milo. It originally opened its doors on August 10, 1793, thus the launch on the site this week. Happy Birthday.

There is a lot to say about this museum and if you want to find out more, Wikipedia The Louvre or visiting the museums website in English would be a good start.

How about a quick tour of the museum in 4K?

You can find many photos of the Louvre so I will assume you know what it looks like. Let’s get right into the mazes:

The Mazes: My first version is a standard black and white version:

And my second and third versions are something new, mixed media mazes using a version of my maze overlayed on a photo of the Louvre. I could not find the photographer to properly attribute them as this photo is found on many websites. This version also is wide angle to showcase more of the wonderful nighttime photo. I did 2 versions, a white background and one that uses the reflection of the buildings color.

Maze of the Week #3 - The University of Alaska Museum of the North

After my first 2 landscape mazes to start the year we switch subjects and I present a building maze. This week the maze features the architecture of Joan Soranno and the GDM/HGA team in the form of The University of Alaska Museum of the North. I made 2 options of the maze, one in color and the other in greyscale. The architecture of the building, while not only beautiful lent itself to a draw and cut maze construction that solves like a grid maze. I think you will enjoy it !

Some information about The University of Alaska Museum of the North

My guess is most of you do not live near this museum, but if you are ever in Fairbanks, Alaska, you should plan a visit. While I have never visited myself, I have added this to my bucket list after watching this video (They have their own YouTube channel). Seems like a great and educational way to spend a day.

Before we get to the maze let’s take a look at the building the maze was made of:

Let’s look at the 2 mazes options:

First the full color version that I prefer. Notice it is from a slightly different angle than the photo above. Both are from a time of year (Summer?) when there is no snow on the ground.

And now the alternative version in greyscale. The maze is the same in each.

I hope you enjoy the mazes.

You can find downloads of the maze on it’s permanent page.

Coming Next week:
