Maze of the Week #37 - New London Ledge Lighthouse Maze

For maze of the week #37 I bring you a lighthouse maze. It was originally maze #22, but I switched it last minute because of a holiday. Although it looks more like a house than a lighthouse, I assure you that if you go to New London Harbor, Connecticut, in Groton you will find the New London Ledge Lighthouse. As far as the maze, it is a standard construction. Initially this was only done in black and white but I later added a color version so I would like your feedback on which version you prefer !

Some information about New London Ledge Lighthouse

Is it haunted? Maybe, and by a guy named Ernie. Built in 1909, this lighthouse features a 58 foot tall tower. Was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 29th, 1990. If you are in the area you are able to visit the lighthouse ! Or if you want a quick tour, checkout the video below !

The mazes:

The original version. Black and white. I did reformat it so there was less white space on the page. It presents better on the site.

And I got motivated to create a full color version. I like how it came out. Yes I did include the rust stains !! Here is the result ! Which do you prefer ? This is currently formatted for a standard 8.5 x 11 full page. But ideally I would format it smaller.

Maze of the Week #36 - Key West Southernmost Point Buoy Maze

My maze of the week #36 features the Southernmost Point Buoy in Key West, Florida. If you ever visit Key West this is a must visit photo opportunity. Also, what a great vacation. The large buoy is beautiful. I love the way it is painted and was excited to make it into a maze. It is featured this week because the current buoy was dedicated on September 10, 1983, replacing a wooden sign.

If you want to learn more about the point, check the Wikipedia page out, or watch this video:

Let’s go with a photo before we get to the maze:

The maze: I really enjoyed making this. I went with grey walls so I could use one consistent color against all different color backgrounds.

Maze of the Week #35 - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Maze

Maze of the week #35 rocks. I am happy to present a maze of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. If you are a fan of music, and who isn’t ?, then you would love to visit the rock hall. I have had the pleasure of visiting multiple times. It is featured on the site this week because it was dedicated on September 1, 1995. The beautiful building was designed by architect I.M Pei. It reminds me of The Louvre which I also recently mazed. As someone who has lived in downtown Cleveland, I should mention that there are speakers around the downtown that play music from the RRHOF in the Summer. One of the speaker stacks is in this maze, and sits just outside the museum.

Learn more about the Rock Hall, and maybe even plan a visit.

Here is a photo of the museum on the shores of Lake Erie:

The mazes: I made this 4 times, each with different colorations. The face of the building changes colors based on the light and weather. The first version is where I landed, but I have included my second favorite also below. Note that the maze is poster sized and formatted to 24 x 42. It looks best printed on a large piece of paper.

Maze of the Week #34 - Bok Tower Gardens Maze

Maze of the week #34 features the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida, and specifically the Bok Gardens Tower. It has a long and interesting history and you can learn all about the gardens and plan a visit by visiting their website. It hosts events and can be rented for weddings.

Here is a photo of the tower:

The maze: I went with black and white. I have considered colorizing it, but decided against it because of the individual shade each brick has. I like that the bricks made for a nice grid construction.
