At the time of me watching this on tubitv, when I checked the movie, considered a documentary on IMDB, it has no votes. I feel like the guy below a video that comments FiRst !. (UPDATE: over 2 years later it has 11 votes) Anyway, this 75 minute doc is broken into # short parts, each which discusses a different ancient mystery. It reminds me in some ways of the show Ancient Aliens.

Part 1 - The Hypogeum Cave Chambers in Malta.

Part 2 - The Vlasovka Labyrinth, which apparently was found in the 1980’s located in Russia. There is not much information on this site, no pictures I could find, and apparently you need to search for it in the Russian language which will lead you to information on the discoveries.

Part 3 - The Ontario Lake Structure. A stone structure hidden beneath MacDonald Lake in Ontario, Canada which you can read about here. Is it part of Canada’s Stonehenge ?

Part 4 - The Pentelli Cave - North of Athens, Greece, this is said to de a place for a lot of paranormal phenomenon. Did it contain a Stargate ? Is it a place of electromagnetic disturbances ?

Part 5 - Gateways to Hell - apparently they can be found all over the world. The documentary talks about a house in Gary, Indiana, and places in Kansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The most interesting place is the Houska Castle in Prague, Czechia which is said to have been built over a bottomless pit.

Part 6 - The Golden Ratio - discusses the history of the Picts and their use of the divine proportion.

Part 7 - The 33rd Line of Latitude - apparently lots of very important things happen and locations happen on the 33rd latitude. Baghdad (Mesopotamia), The White Pyramid in China, Moundville in Alabama, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Roswell to name a few. And we can’t have a doc like this without talking about the Freemasons !

Personally this was interesting but lacking in scientific research to back up the claims made. I liked that the documentary featured a lot of places that are not commonly known about. Overall worth a look if you enjoy this type of content - and you know who you are !

I give it a 5.5/10 not because I believe what was discussed, but becasue it gave me things to research and think about.

I could not find a trailer for the movie to post here, but I did find a 37 minute discussion of the Vlasovka Labyrinth.

Do you like scary movies ? If you do go ahead and skip this one. Do you like movies about high school kids that justify violence for weird reasons and high school drama ? Then this could be the movie for you ! A masked assailant starts taking out people in their homes while wearing masks that look like the next victim. Each victim has a secret they are trying to forget - they are all bad actors and actresses. No, actually, it is usually about hazing, because, high school. Late in the movie we get people in a corn maze (the movie takes place in Nebraska) and it gets lit on fire - not a good way to die, for sure. I considered taking you through more of the plot but it is high school movie and thinking about writing it out annoys me. Either way this movie is not very good.

The movie is an adaption of the best selling book of the same name written by author Stephanie Perkins in 2017. I suggest you read that instead.

You can find this film on Netflix.

I give it a 5/10.

When you think about maze movies you probably do not think of this movie, but How to Train Your Dragon does have a prominent maze scene (and you can watch that below). It is the story of Vikings who hunt and kill dragons until one of them, Hiccup makes a dragon friend. The heart warming adventure unfolds from there. A perfect story for both children and adults. This is a story everyone can enjoy. This movie started a string of sequels, shorts and a video game. And, eventually it was remade as a live action version (2025).

I give it an 8.5/10 for a well done feel good family movie. This is considered a Top 250 movie of all time on IMDB.

Here is a link to the actual maze scene from the movie.

Dark City (1998) Movie Review

Dark City (1998) IMDB

Dark City (1998) movie poster

Dark is definitely the best way to describe this city and this movie. An underrated fantasy sci-fi movie where a city is stuck in perpetual night. Our main character is wanted for murder, can’t remember his past, and is being pursued by some creepy guys called The Strangers. As he travels in the city, trying to find information about his life and what is happening he witnesses the city’s buildings and structure changing, creating a maze of the city. We also have a conflicted doctor (played by Kiefer Sutherland) who does city experiments using a mouse in a spiral maze that is shaped like the city. And everything leads to Shell Beach.

This movie is interesting and I consider it a tribute to the black and white film noir films of the 40’s and 50’s. The set design and costumes are excellent.

I give it an 8.5/10 for a well executed sci-fi concept.
