Snack and Dessert Mazes - A Maze Collection for Sweet Tooths

I am hungry right now. Hungry for something sweet and delicious. A really good muffin would be outstanding. As I have mentioned before when I make my daily mazes I have ended up making a lot of different food mazes as a result. Previously I pulled together a collection of my Favorite Fruit and Vegetable Mazes. And as I was doing that I realized I have made a lot of Snack Mazes and Dessert Mazes. (Fun Fact - I have also made 2 Desert Mazes, one of a sand castle and one of a bucket on the beach.) Let’s have a look at some of the best.

My Top 15 Favorite Snack and Dessert Mazes

I have made a few different muffin and cupcake mazes. A Chocolate Cupcake Maze with a nice gradient cup, with sprinkles on top. A Blueberry Muffin Maze with nice chunks of blueberry to bite into. Seems like the cup on that looks a bit familiar…

And you can’t talk about dessert without talking about Ice Cream ! I have done a few different Ice Cream Mazes. Here is a Vanilla Ice Cream Cone Maze, a Strawberry Ice Cream Cone Maze and a Banana Split Maze. I like the mixed maze designs I used for the cones vs. the Ice Cream.

You know what I go nuts for ? Donuts. Two different perspectives and flavors are found in these Doughnut Mazes, or Donut Mazes. A Glazed Sprinkled or a Jelly Filled.

When I was growing up I liked 2 kinds of pie, pumpkin and lemon meringue. The fun thing about making Pie and Cake Mazes is you can use Axonometric grids to get a really fun look. I also like the Lemon Meringue Pie Maze meringue details. If you check out the Food Maze Section you can find a difficult version of the maze. While the Cherry Pie Maze is bursting with awkwardly shaped bright red cherries.

Sometimes an object can be very mazeable just because of its shape. That’s how I feel about this Chocolate Bar Maze. The sections make for great passageways

Sometimes dessert comes with a fortune, a fun saying, some lottery numbers, or a piece of wisdom. Like this Fortune Cookie Maze.

Indian State Mazes

I have a section of map mazes on the site that I am always working on expanding. I just added a new section for India that features mazes of each of the 28 states ! You can find downloads of each individual maze on that page, and I also have pulled together all of the mazes into a book available in the free printable book section. Here is a cover of the book designed off of the flag of the country. There is also a bonus maze on the cover of the country using the states borders as the walls (although it is an easy maze). All mazes are currently available in English.

And here is an example of one of the actual mazes. All goals are the capital of the state and denoted with a star. Here is the Tamil Nadu Maze as an example.

Weekly Hard Maze #4

Each Saturday I post a new hard maze with all of them sitting in the Hard Maze Archive. I will try to post a variety of maze types to keep things interesting.

Weekly Hard Maze #4 - Mega Dot Maze

This is a maze I made from scratch and it is a Dot Maze. The large size maze it more difficult than most mazes. Also the connections between the dots are small and it is hard to see dead ends. Solution will be in the archive. Download is below. If you like this type of maze I have a section of dot mazes on the site.

One Maze - Many designs - experiment #3

This is a continuation of of maze design experiments. Read about it in post #1, One Maze - Many designs, then The first 5 experiments and so on, or just enjoy the ride.

The original maze:

Simple Maze

I used Inkscape for these 5 options to redesign it. All of them use overlays to change the walls of the maze.

  • The first is a floral overlay.

  • The next is a geometric overlay. I had many options for this one.

  • The 3rd overlay is made from red polka dots.

  • The fourth overlay uses snowflakes. While I thickened the lines for each other version to show more of the overlay, I used regular width here….and would obviously prefer the wider version.

  • The fifth overlay uses wood patterns.

I would say every version is interesting. I am not sure when I would use this overlay in the future, but before doing this project I did not know they existed or how they work. Hopefully I find the perfect use and remember this experiment for bearing fruit !
