Maze Comic Book Cover #92 - HORNS

Issue #92 in my comic book cover series is called HORNS and features a maze of a Devil. The background of this maze was made using starryai. This and the next 4 mazes will all be themed for Halloween. If you like scary creatures these will be the maze for you. For more traditional kids Halloween Mazes check out this section of the site.

Maze of the Week #196 - 18 Wheeler Maze

Anytime I work with this maze I hear the song Roll On by Alabama in my head. Now I have may have mis-named this maze because I only made the cab and not the trailer of this 18-wheeler semi-truck maze, so technically it is a few wheels short. I may add a trailer and make this a long maze in the future. Either way, it becomes Maze of the Week #196. I seem to be on a red kick with my vehicle mazes lately.

Lost in the Snack Aisle: Grocery Mazes spotted !

I was shopping for groceries at my local Aldi when I stumbled upon a maze in an unexpected place, on the back of a box of crackers ! Specifically this box of Turtles Baked Extra Cheddar Snack Crackers. So, I did what any normal person would do and took a picture of the maze to share with you. While I have seen mazes on boxes before they have all been on cereal boxes…and suddenly I have the urge to check the backs of all of them to see if there are any more mazes in the grocery store !

And now a few weeks later (Fall 2023) I can confirm there is another maze. This time it was found in a place I would expect - the cereal section with this maze I found on a box of Honey Nut Cheerios ! Another circular maze. When you see the maze, since there is no Start and goal noted - do you try to escape the center or get to the center ? I always like to escape !

And I am back again in Fall of 2025 with a new Cheerios box featuring a kids maze. This flavor will not be around for long.

And in Fall of 2024 we have an update from Honey Nut Cheerios with a new maze type that I love !

And again, now that I have more time I found 2 more mazes at the local Aldi store. The first is a traditional maze on a box of animal crackers.

And the second is one of 3 games on the back of Honey Grahams cereal. We have a traditional maze, a word finder and a connect the dots.

Thank you Aldi for the great mazes (and especially thanks to the designer) ! Have you seen any mazes at your local grocery store ?

How to Train Your Dragon (2025) Movie Review

How to Train Your Dragon (2025) IMDB

How to Train Your Dragon 2025 movie poster

I had originally reviewed the 2010 version of this movie and thought it was excellent (I gave it an 8.5/10). When I saw the new live action version was coming out I wondered if it would have the maze scene included again. Non-spoiler: I am writing a review of the movie here so I can confirm that it does have the maze scene again !

As far as the movie it is the same story you remember and it holds up well in the new format (unlike a certain company doing classic remakes that have not been holding up). The flying scenes feel very Avatar like and the CGI is excellent. I see why this was made for IMAX. Overall this remains a very solid movie I would recommend for all ages. My one complaint is that the original was 98 minutes and this clocks in at almost 2 hours ( officially 125 minutes but the end is full of extensive credits), fine for adults but kids might struggle with the extra time.
