These are not the labyrinths that I teach you how to draw on the site, but rather the type you walk physically in the real world. I used the valuable site labyrinth locator to research and come up with answers to more than 30 questions using data from the site. All answers are correct as of August 2026. What is most popular labyrinth size in the Canada ?
The most popular size of labyrinth in Canada has a diameter of 50 feet, with the second most popular being 40 feet in diameter. Indoor labyrinths are much smaller, with a 30 foot diameter being the most common, followed by 24 feet.
What is the largest indoor labyrinth in Canada ?
The largest indoor labyrinth in Canada is the Faith United Church Labyrinth in Hamilton, Ontario which has a diameter of 52 feet. This is also the largest indoor labyrinth in North America. This is a Medieval Chartres replica labyrinth that is painted onto a wooden floor. Plan a trip to visit it on the church website.

I find that answering this question is harder than it sounds. I will walk through all the large labyrinths I have found information on starting from largest until we find all the interesting answers we are seeking. There are 20 labyrinths in Canada with diameters of 100 feet or more.
328 foot diameter. The Restoration H’art Works Labyrinth in the Divide Forest in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan is said to be a Medieval Chartres style labyrinth made from planted trees. Installed in the Summer of 2001 by Oriol Dancer, I cannot find it on any map (even satellite view) or confirm its existence. Trees don’t disappear, so if is still around, send me a note. For now, I cannot confirm.
220 foot diameter. The Battle Hill Farms Labyrinth in Glencoe, Ontario is a left-handed Classical 5 circuit labyrinth created in the grass but the pathways are made from trees ! You can see the labyrinth shape in the satellite map of the location. I believe this is the largest labyrinth in Canada.
200 foot diameter. The Emery Homestead Labyrinth in Dunnville, Ontario is described as a contemporary labyrinth as you can see from the satellite view of the labyrinth. While interesting, this is not a continuous path. My verdict: Not a labyrinth. More of an interesting walk.
197 foot diameter. The Chiron Holistics Labyrinth at Qualicum Beach, British Columbia is a modified 7 circuit Cretan style labyrinth. It is available to walk by appointment only. It also has extra large pathways so you can walk the pathways with your horse ! Check out Chiron Holistic Health Services to learn more about the labyrinth and see some pics. This is the largest Cretan style labyrinth in Canada. This is the largest labyrinth in British Columbia.
191 foot diameter. A private farm in Saskatchewan has a wonderful 7 circuit classical labyrinth with wide pathways made from a mix of trees and shrubs. This is the largest labyrinth in Saskatchewan.
160 foot diameter. The Singing Sands Inn Labyrinth in Kingsboro, Prince Edward Island is a double spiral labyrinth cut into the lawn. By my count it has 14 circuits (foreshadowing)! This is the largest spiral labyrinth in Canada. This is the largest labyrinth in Prince Edward Island.
150 foot diameter. The Labyrinth of Peace in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan is a meandering labyrinth pathway that includes 11 sign posts along the way to guide you in meditation. 150 foot diameter. The Carol Shields Memorial Labyrinth in Winnipeg, Manitoba is a Classical labyrinth that is a tribute to the famous author. Located in the Southern section of Kings Park, you can easily find this on Google Maps. The labyrinth features quotes from her work. This is the largest labyrinth in Manitoba.
115 foot diameter. One of 5 labyrinths on the site, the Elm Tree Centre 7 circuit Cretan style labyrinth is located in the woods and marked with stones among the trees. Plan a visit to the Centre, located in Moffat, Ontario by visiting their website where you can find photos of all 5 labyrinths !
110 foot diameter. Described as a Classical style labyrinth made of rocks and yew trees, this labyrinth is located in Aldergrove, BC on private property.
104 foot diameter. Another labyrinth on private property, this Medieval Chartres style labyrinth is located in Okotoks, Alberta. Made from rocks, this is the largest labyrinth in Alberta. This is the largest Chartres style labyrinth in Canada.
102 foot diameter. The Land of the Little People Labyrinth in Williamsburg, New Brunswick is an excellent 11 circuit Medieval labyrinth. TIP: If you look for it on a map, it sits far back from the road. This is the largest labyrinth in New Brunswick.
100 foot diameter. There are 8 labyrinths that have this diameter in Canada, rather than list them all, here are the most significant ones that hold a record of some sort; The Tatamagouche Center Labyrinth in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia is an excellent 11 circuit Medieval style labyrinth cut into the grass. This is the largest labyrinth in Nova Scotia.
100 foot diameter. The Saunders Farm in Ottawa, Ontario features a variety of mazes and labyrinths. It has a wonderful 100 foot diameter spiral labyrinth made from hedges. The farm is a tourist attraction and you can a plan a trip on their website. It is worth a look on satellite view (zoom in and move around below).

The largest octagonal labyrinth in Canada is the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Labyrinth located in Nottawa, Ontario with a 100 foot diameter. This beautiful labyrinth is mowed into the grass during the nice weather months of the year and features 11 circuits.
What is the largest square shaped labyrinth in Canada?
With a 100 foot diameter, the Cowichan Valley Lavender Labyrinth in North Cowichan, BC is made from lavender. You can plan a trip on their website. It is visible on Google Maps.

The largest Baltic style labyrinth in Canada is the Fishers Loft Inn Labyrinth in Port Rexton, Newfoundland and Labrador. This 9 circuit labyrinth is 82 feet in diameter, and is cut into the grass. The largest labyrinth in Quebec is the Saint-Jerome Cathedral Labyrinth located in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. This is a Medieval 11 circuit labyrinth with a 17 meter diameter (approx. 55.75 foot). Unique about this labyrinth is that it has a sidewalk that traverses through it, so it is not technically complete. If that disqualifies the labyrinth then the next in line is the Noble Chemin Labyrinth in Montebello that has a 50 foot diameter.

Because the most famous labyrinth in the world is the Chartres Labyrinth in France it is often copied, so Chartres style replicas make of 28.7% of the total labyrinths - but they are also a Medieval labyrinth. What is the most common type of labyrinth in Canada when considering type, circuits and size ?
Many labyrinths do not list their size (especially indoor ones). But from the information available, that would be a Classical 7 circuit labyrinth that is 40 feet in diameter. Second most popular is an 11 circuit Chartres style labyrinth that is 42 feet in diameter. The original Chartres labyrinth in France is 42 feet 3 3/8 inches across, and has 11 circuits so it makes sense this configuration is very popular with similar sizes in labyrinths inspired by it.
What is the most common type of INDOOR labyrinth in Canada when considering type, circuits and size ?
Many indoor labyrinths do not report what size they are, but from the available information it is the 11 circuit Chartres style labyrinth that is 30 feet in diameter. The same type/circuits with the size of 32 or 36 feet are the next most popular.
How many circuits are most popular for physical labyrinths in Canada ?
The most common circuits for labyrinths in Canada are 7 circuits, but it depends on the location. Indoor labyrinths are typically 11 circuits (51% of them), while outdoor are more commonly 7 circuits (51% of them). 76% of the labyrinths that have been reported are outdoors in Canada. It is possible that indoor labyrinths are more prevalent since anyone could report the location of an outdoor labyrinth, while indoor is only public information if the owner wants it to be. So chances are this percentage is off, but outdoor is still the majority.
What labyrinth is at the highest elevation in Canada ?
The Labyrinth Park in Grand Cache, Alberta has an estimated elevation of 1,220 m (4,000 ft). It is easy to find on Google Maps (click for great pictures) and features a wonderful 11 circuit labyrinth made of stones with perfect mountain views ! Here is a video I found that features it:

There are no locations in Canada below sea level, so this would be a labyrinth near the coast and the water…..and there are many….so this is a tie…unless you can find one that wins !

Where is the Westernmost labyrinth in Canada ?
A private 7 circuit classical labyrinth located in Dawson City, Yukon WAS the Northernmost and the Westernmost labyrinth in Canada ! I estimate it at a 64°04′ N latitude and 139°25′55″W (based on the city), however it is no longer maintained. That means the other Yukon labyrinth has both records, located 20 minutes north of Whitehorse at Lot 1134, Shallow Bay Road, off the North Klondike Highway. It is a 7 circuit Classical labyrinth made from rocks and located in the boreal forest.

Where is the Southernmost labyrinth in Canada ?
The Southernmost labyrinth in Canada is the Leamington Labyrinth, an 11 circuit Chartres style labyrinth with a 92 foot diameter located in Leamington, Ontario. It can be found in Garrison Gardens at a 42.04 N latitude. Check out the satellite view (zoom in a bit) ! To get from the Southernmost to the Northernmost labyrinth it will be a 56 hour drive, over 5,600 Km and you’ll need a passport. If you don’t want to leave Canada, it is 65 hours of driving, and 6,275 Km.

The Easternmost labyrinth in Canada is the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Labyrinth located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. This 7 circuit Classical labyrinth is located in the grass outside the south side of the cathedral.

Every spiral type labyrinth in Canada is located outdoors. All of the labyrinths labeled as “Other” are also outdoors. They are listed as other because they typically have unique shapes that don’t easily fit into the traditional classifications.
Chartres style labyrinths in Canada typically have 11 circuits (76%), the same as the real thing in France, although petite versions with less circuits are common because of space constraints (often from indoor versions).

Notes on my data: I spent a month researching labyrinths using labyrinth locator in August 2026. If information was not given there - for example the labyrinths diameter - I researched it using Google Maps and measured it. I counted circuits. I identified types. I removed any mazes from the data to get a better data set. When a labyrinth is in disrepair or closed, it is often not taken down from the site. There are entries on the site that are counted as 1 on the site that describe 5 different labyrinths on the same property - I cataloged all 5. So basically this entire section is to say I cleaned up the data as best I could.
