Welcome to year 4 of my maze of the week series. This year is focused on famous places around the world. Our first maze of the week and #210 in the series is of The Blue Mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey or the Sultanahmet Camii. Not only is this mosque famous, but it has been for a long time because it was constructed between 1609 and 1617. What amazing construction and quality for a 400+ year old building. This is my first maze from Turkey, and my second mosque after the KAFD Grand Mosque in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (MOTW#72). I like making mazes of great architecture and religious buildings fit that: 9 Mazes of religious buildings from around the world.
If you want to read about the Blue Mosque and it’s long history check out Wikipedia or watch this short video from Rick Steves:
The maze: I used the Turkish words for start and goal. I made it in black and white except for the minaret towers and dome tops. The actual building changes colors depending on the lighting (If you don’t believe me search some pictures).
Free maze download is available on the sites home page.
