Another maze I made for someone. This maze of the Avalon Boardwalk on Catalina Island in California was fun to make. It becomes Maze of the Week #186. The landscape breaks into 3 sections: The water, the boardwalk and the hills. For the water I used wavy walls to simulate waves, while the high palm trees in the center of the picture created barriers I need to work around when creating the maze. The buildings were difficult from a maze perspective. As a solver the water and the hills are where the main maze portions live. The style is different than I normally make.
I did the maze in black and white, but then added color to see how it would come out. Either works. The color version does not meaningfully improve the maze. I think you might be able to do better by using the black and white version as a coloring page. I did make some minor changes to it to widen some pathways that may be helpful. Here are both versions:
