Templo de Sangre de Cristo Maze
5TH PLACE - 2023 MAZE OF THE YEAR FOR THIS SITE
A church that I lived near in the centro of Oaxaca, Mexico. There are many nearby churches that are famous, but I like this one. The place where I was standing to take a photo of the church hosts artists selling their wares. So if you are in this spot, turn around and check out the art behind you !
The Templo de Sangre de Cristo (Temple of the Precious Blood of Christ), a church located in the centro of Oaxaca de Juarez, Oaxaca. It was consecrated in 1689 and is not as famous a church compared to it’s very impressive neighbor down the street, the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán or the Catedral Metropolitana de Oaxaca (which opened in 1573).
Very short, YouTube short link.
Photo: Taken by me
I did not include it, but the far wall has a cool mural on it you can see here. I also did not include the new graffiti :(
I went back a few times to get some additional photos of details of the church to help in my making of the maze. Hopefully this additional detail helps make the maze more interesting. Here is a collage of some of those photos:
The Maze: I took many pictures of the building and tried to include as many details as I could. I only did the maze in black and white.
