Maze of the Week #56 - Matrimandir at Auroville Maze

Maze of the week #56 takes us to the other side of India, in Auroville, Tamil Nadu and features the Matrimandir building. It took almost 40 years to be built and was completed in 2008. It is the main building in the complex for Integral Yoga practitioners. It features a dome covered in golden colored discs. You can read more about it on the Wikipedia Page.

Check out a video of the building from the visitor center YouTube page:

The Maze: I found the colors difficult to match but went with a full color version to highlight the golden discs. In different lights the discs take on different shades.

Maze of the Week #55 - Lotus Temple Maze

Maze of the week #55 takes us to Delhi, India for the Lotus Temple Maze. I like to make mazes of great architecture and this qualifies as just that. What a unique building. It opened in 1986 and was designed by Fariborz Sahba. You can read all the facts and figures about it on the Wikipedia page.

Check out a video of the building that focuses on the Baha’i faith:

Maze of the Week #54 - Heydar Aliyev Center Maze

Maze of the week #54 takes us to a new country with the Heydar Aliyev Center Maze located in Baku, Azerbaijan. I found a picture of this very cool building as I was searching for great architecture around the world. Designed by the Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, it houses an auditorium, a gallery hall and a museum. You can read more about the museum on the Wikipedia page.

Maze of the Week #53 - Museo Soumaya

We start 2023 with one of my favorite mazes that I have ever made. It is of the Museo Soumaya located in Mexico City. The maze is of the building named the Plaza Carso, opened in 2011 and designed by Mexican Architect Fernando Romero. You can read the wiki about it here, or visit their website and plan a trip.

Now this maze made me rethink what the possible solutions are to a maze. One of the most popular options that people inquire about is the hidden message maze where the solution is a word. The solution to this maze is a variation on that theme. You’ll have to solve it to find out what it is !

Check out a video of the museum:
