Maze of the Week #46 - Free Stamp Maze

Maze of the week #46 features the world’s largest office stamp located in Willard Park in Cleveland, Ohio. It is actually a few blocks from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame (Maze #35) and it is difficult to see one without the other. This stamp is the Free Stamp and is made of aluminum and steel that weighs 70,000 pounds.

You can read about the stamp here or check out this video:

The Maze: I did 3 versions. Black and white, a simple red and white, and a full color version. I prefer the 3rd full color version. Although this sits in a park I did not place it there, focusing only on the stamp for the maze (no ground, sky or background trees)

Maze of the Week #45 - Air Force Cadet Chapel Maze

I am happy to present maze of the week #45 of the US Air Force Cadet Chapel in Colorado in celebration of Veteran’s Day in the United States on November 11th. It is a great example of modernist architecture and as of this blog post it is currently under renovation. The architect was Walter Netsch and it became a US National Historic Landmark in 2004.

Check out Wikipedia or watch this video to learn more about the spectacular building:

Laberinto de la Semana #44 - La Catrina Laberinto

I promised a holiday maze and I delivered with Maze of the week #44 o posible Laberinto de la Semana #44 featuring La Catrina for Dia de los Muertos. If you do not know who she is, I’m sure you’ve seen her before, maybe in a James Bond movie ? Or if you are in a country that celebrates Halloween you may have seen a La Catrina costume used for both holidays and not realized it !

Check out this cool video about her origins:

A photo of La Catrina. I suggest you do an image search because there are some great versions out there !

Coloring Page: As I designed this I realized that it would make a great coloring page for all ages (available for download on the home page). Here it is:

The Maze: I needed to add many more lines to create more “walls” for the maze to weave through ! Without them the maze would be too easy - in fact it would not be much of a maze at all !

I hope you enjoy the maze and coloring page. Downloads are available of each version of La Catrina.

Coming next week:

A maze of a beautiful building (currently being renovated).

Maze of the Week #43 - Castle Craig Maze

I said maze of the week #43 would be a castle, and it is sort of. More of a castle tower that is called a tower. The Castle Craig is located in Hubbard Park in Meriden, Connecticut and was dedicated on October 29, 1900. The castle is only 32 feet high, so taking the stairs to the observation deck is a short climb. You can check out the view in the video below, or read about the castle on the Wikipedia page.

The maze: I went with a basic black and white draw and cut construction. Honestly, if the castle was more famous I would colorize it, add to the background with some land, rock formations and a sky, and add some shadows to the castle.
