Maze of the Week #6 - Blue Mustang Sculpture Maze

Our 6th maze of the year is a maze of “Blucifer” as some locals call it, or the Blue Mustang Sculpture that sits outside of Denver International Airport. This maze comes in 2 versions, color and a (mostly) black and white. The construction is free drawn. I am featuring the maze this week because it was completed on February 11, 2008.

Some information about the Blue Mustang Sculpture

This is a fiberglass sculpture from the artist Luis Jiménez. Unfortunately, it also led directly to his death. The sculpture is 32 feet high and weighs 9,000 pounds. The eyes are red LED lights. You can learn all about the sculpture on it’s Wikipedia page. I also highly suggest you check out this background story by Cameron Bailey.

Or you can just watch a 10 minute video about the horse:

Some pictures:

All three photos are provided courtesy of Denver International Airport. I included the restoration picture to give you an idea of the scale of the Mustang !

The Mazes:

The first version of maze is basically black and white except for the eyes. Nothing too difficult. The construction is free drawn.

And our second version shows off the blue color of the sculpture. Same maze as above, just re-colored.

I hope you enjoy the mazes. You can find downloads of the maze at the mazes permanent home.

Coming Next Week:

We return to the southern part of America with another sign maze.
